The internet and digital photography have brought very descriptive images of war into the home. This allows the public to easily access not only officially taken photographs, by photojournalists and defence force photographers, but also by soldiers and people in the affected areas. Technology has progressed to digital cameras being of a very small size, even having a camera function in the mobile phone, and the market has made them very affordable which makes cameras accessible for most.
The photographs displayed on the internet, and in the media, determine the way people perceive what is happening. This, in turn, will affect the pressures put on the government from the public.
